I want a stinkin baby.

As you may know, it was recently Mother's day.
As you may also know, I am not a mother yet.
I'm not even going to sugar coat it.
It made me want a baby.

Yeah, I really like kids.
Okay, so it didn't really have anything to do with Mother's day, I just want to be a mom! I'm not in a hurry, but it's a huge blessing I'm anxious to take part of. It seems like most people think the sole purpose of Mother's day is to appreciate our Mothers. I certainly feel that that's true and that they don't get the credit they deserve. However, I think it's also cause for celebration on the part of the mothers. To you moms out there, how incredible is the blessing you have had of creating life?
Some people aren't blessed with that, ya know?
Believe it or not, some women stay up late at night crying for the poopy diapers and meltdowns in the grocery store.
It's true, you've taught your kids countless numbers of lessons- honesty, kindness, diligence. For that, you are incredible women deserving of much appreciation. But chances are, I bet they've taught you some lessons too. Even just spending time with my niece and nephew I see some of the lessons they have to offer. My niece can be a little ball of fire, but she is always so quick to forgive if someone loses their patience with her. It's not even a thought for her. She shows me how exciting life can be when she really thinks there is a dragon behind that mountain we need to run from! I really can't blame her for her temper tantrums when she's tired, seeing as how I'm 21 and have my occasional meltdowns.  Adults have temper tantrums too. I make much bigger mistakes than screaming over a barbie toy. She knows who I am, and she knows I love her. My newborn nephew teaches me about innocence and the small reasons to be happy. If a little bit of attention and a smile or two can give him reason to display the biggest grin possible, certainly I have reason to smile as well. He is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. It's as if his smiles take every muscle in his face! I love being an aunt, but I can't wait to be a mom. I can't even imagine what beautiful lessons they will teach me about love, humility, and forgiveness. I sometimes wonder about the kind of mom I'm going to be.
Will I be patient enough?
 Will I teach them enough?
Will I know when they're sick?
Will I be able to convince them that bathtime and eating vegetables are essential parts of life they just have to deal with?
Something I have always been passionate about is encouraging my future children to reach their dreams! If my four year old wants to be a zoo keeper, you better believe some afternoons will be spent at the library learning about all the animals. If my eight year old wants to be a runner, I'll be out on the track timing each lap. If my ten year old wants to learn spanish, I'll teach him a word every day. If my thirteen year old wants to be a cheerleader...well.. maybe not that one...just kidding. I think I could even support that dream. I think. We'll see ;)
I've always felt really strongly that I (now Clint as well) will be blessed with incredible children and it will be essential for me to be supportive and do all I can to help them achieve and be the amazing people they are meant to become. They aren't even here yet and I already love them so much and know they're destined for greatness! Although it will probably be at least two years before Clint and I are parents, I couldn't be more excited. We definitely won't be perfect, but we will love our children as much as any parents could.

I can't wait to be a mom.

!!!!!!!!!!!! (i don't know how many exclamation points it will take to tell you how much i agree with everything you just said.) BUT REALLY. i always think about what i want to teach my children. i like what you said about encouraging their dreams. I hope, above all else, that i can teach my kids to include everyone and to not make fun of other kids, and i hope i have THAT HOUSE where everyone wants to come play. That's all, before i ramble...

Being a mom is the best! I'm 22 with two little boys (ages 25 months and 6 months). My hubby and I said we'd wait at least a year before "trying"...well, our first little one came one day before our 10 month anniversary, haha! And he was planned (although a month premature)! Sometimes the baby bug (aka, the Spirit) bites quick! ...it's SO hard to be a mom, but it's SO worth it! I've given up my education, some friends, and a lot of my freedom, but I wouldn't change it.

Next week I find out whether or not I have cancer. Talk about anxiety. I can't imagine the (slight) possibility of having to leave this earthly home without my little ones. Breaks my heart... thank goodness for Eternal Families! ...okay, now I am rambling! haha.

Can't wait to see pics of your own little ones!

I feel the exact same way!! I cannot wait! It certainly doesn't help that everyone I know seems to be pregnant right now. Haha. We are waiting a little bit longer. : ) But I can't wait!

This is sweet. And I know how you feel sometimes. And I totally just went back and read the pooting post. Which is super hilarious because we just went on a walk together and had a looong discussion about pooting {we call it fluffing...and Dusty says that he "stepped on a barking spider"}. Some people are so uncomfortable with it but I figure it's a normal bodily function and it's going to come out sooner or later. Too funny girl!

Aren't I so generous? Seriously though, motherhood is the greatest. You are going to be such a wonderful mother, you've always been that way! LOVE IT!
