The big day!

On February 9th, 1989, Clint was born. Twenty-two years later, he proposed on that day.
I had the day all planned. We started with Joe's Real BBQ

After lunch, we were going to go to speedway because Clint is a boy and into cars and all that junk. So as we're driving, he gets a call from his brother. He says that one of his friends is sketching at Tempe Town Lake and he gave him Clint's birthday gift card to give to him. Wait...REALLY. Poor Clint thought this was a flawless plan. I was highly suspicious. What are the chances he was just talking with someone at work and they were saying, "oh, I'll be at Tempe Town Lake tonight" and then his brother says "oh cool, will you meet my brother you've never met and give him this gift card?" At this point I knew. I asked a few questions, but I didn't want to ask too many. I didn't want to completely destroy his plans. As I'm getting out of the car I even texted one of my best friends and said "I think this is it!"
We get out of the car, start looking for this strange man. He gives us the card, and of course asks if he can draw us. Don't tell Clint, but I could have predicted the next 5 minutes down to the T. So the guy draws our picture and when he comes over to show it to me, it's a picture that had been done earlier of Clint on his knee proposing to me.
Please hold the comments regarding my nails.
Moving on, so I look over, and Clint is on his knee, with the ring, just like in the picture! It was perfect! As if it needed to be more perfect, the sketch artist, from JPro Studios, caught it all on video:
If you see me look at Clint before he shows me the picture, it's because I thought he would already be on his knee. The proposal might not have gone perfectly, but I love Clint even more for putting so much effort into it for me. He knows I am a details person. Plus, I got the perfect guy! That's just fine with me!

After the proposal, I just wanted to call all my friends and family! I was so excited I couldn't stand it! I felt bad because his birthday didn't go exactly how he had planned. I told him I thought it was unfair that he gave me the biggest gift I'll probably ever get for his birthday. He says he couldn't have asked for a better birthday present. He's sweet like that.

Now, we will be getting married in 40 days! I can't believe it! I couldn't think of a better person to spend eternity with.

This proposal story is SO cute! Even if you knew, it's still so sweet that he planned all of this! Plus, what a gorgeous backdrop and the video is awesome!!

PS: I totally told my hubby that if he proposed to me when my nails looked fonky, I'd kill him. Haha!!
