I've blogged before about how I've had such a hard time with body image since Ainsley was born.
I've tried everything to lose weight.
I've tried cutting out all sweets, making half of my plate veggies, cutting calories, adding calories, 30 day shred program, working out like crazy.
Anyway. It hasn't worked.
I'm convinced I am having some kind of hormone abnormalities and I have lots of other symptoms that point to that. Last time I went to the doctor, she told me just to stop by the nutritionist on the way out.
I AM A NUTRITIONIST.
So I've done a lot of research on programs to help restore proper hormone function.
I've been really impressed with the Whole30 program and I started it yesterday.
The diet is basically fruits, veggies, and meat.
No sugar (except for naturally occurring in fruits and veggies), no dairy, no grains (including pseudo grains like quinoa), no beans, no soy no peanuts or peanut butter, no preservatives, etc.
You're also not supposed to give in to cravings. No making those "healthy" sweets like brownies with almond flour, banana "ice cream", etc. It's all about warding off cravings and overcoming that emotional relationship with food. I want to get away from the whole, I've had a hard day and deserve some chocolate.
I'm only on day two and it's been really hard.
I just really want some rice.
But it's also been really good. I feel a sense of accomplishment even this far. I think it's a huge accomplishment to finish and I can't wait to feel that at the end of this. I can do this! Self control, determination....I got this!
My main purpose in writing this is to hold myself accountable. They say to tell as many people as you can that you're doing this to hold yourself more accountable.
Have you done the Whole30 challenge? I'd love to hear your experiences.
You can find information on their website here.
