I get lots of questions about if we know what we're going to name our little girl.
The answer, yes.
A very big YES, actually.
Yep, I've known since I was about 8 years old what my oldest daughter would be named. And thankfully, it's one of the few names Clint and I can agree on. The other babies might be a challenge!
But back to her name. You know how you hear lots of names in your life and you think "I like that, I need to remember that one." Especially if you're a girl. Admit it, you've been thinking of what to name your babies as soon as you were old enough to know what a name was.
Her name is just about the only one that has stood the test of time, not to mention that I've actually been able to remember!
When Clint and I were dating, I told him this name. My all-time favorite girl name. It's a good thing he liked it, or I might not be wearing this very pretty sparkly ring on that very significant left-handed finger. It was a bit of a deal breaker.
Here's a picture of the cute banner I made for her. [Sorry it was impossible to get a good shot until it gets hung.] I want a fun, magical, girly room, but pink is my least favorite color, which creates a bit of a challenge. Wish me luck!
Okay, enough stalling. ;)
maybe
k, now that's enough
Her name will be...
Ainsley Mae
Her middle name is slightly less decided, but it will most likely stay Mae. [Clint likes the band a lot. I do too actually]
I LOVE her name. When I hear someone say it, especially Clint, my heart skips a beat. I think it's the sweetest, prettiest, most perfect name for the world's most special girl. I feel like the name is a compliment itself. A compliment for a woman who will accomplish great things in her life. I'm already Ainsley's biggest fan!
Now, it's just a waiting game for her to get here!

Aw, how sweet! I love it!
That is a great name! Very pretty!
Very pretty. I love it even more now that I have seen how it looks spelled out.
In a semi-related note, I have spent the past 2 hours obsessing over whether or not the name we chose is the right one!! I just need to go into labor so I can stop worrying about it.
i'm in love with how you feel about her name. it's beautiful, i'm so excited for you!
Such a sweet and unique name. My boss just had a baby 2 months ago and they named her Ainsley. Same spelling and everything. I've been in love with it since I heard it.
The banner is precious! I've heard of people using teal instead of pink for a girl.
Usually people are too paranoid to put their future baby's name on the internet because someone might steal it, but don't worry I won't. Cute name!
OMG, this name is soooooooo uncommon where I live--my name was too until a couple of years ago. This year, I've met 5 Cassandras! CRAZY. Anyway, Ainsley is a gorgeous name--just beautiful! Love it!
congrats on picking a name! i have mine all selected too. i try them out with potential last names. bahaha. but seriously...
Awww...we knew our baby boy's name super early on as well. But he's named after a special family member :)
Cute name!
I love her name! It's actually one of the ones Race and I considered!! :) It's beautiful!!
I hope you believe me when I say I'm being totally honest...
I really like her name! and I'm picky and I don't usually like most names people pick these days, haha.
It's cute and not too trendy and perfect. and I love Mae the band as well too, so I think it's a perfect middle name. :)
but I am also curious if you are pronouncing it Ann-zlee or Ain-zlee :)
Oh I love it so much!! That names is just perfect!
I have my heart set on a name, but I guess Eric doesn't love it? Yet.... ;) So I'm not going to share until we are positive. But if you ask Eric, our daughter's name will be Shakira. Heaven help us!!
Shut up. (As in gee whiz, golly wolly... you know) Seriously though, shut up. I have one very most favorite, loved it forever, deal breaker/maker baby name for a daughter. Aynslee. (Though, I'm really digging your spelling.) Part of me is a little jelly that you get to use the name first, but most of me is elated that someone else out there loves that name too. It's perfect, it fits you guys, I'm giddy for you. :)
I'm in trouble when I have to name a child. I'm so finnicky on names; one day I love it, the next day I'm tired of it. That's so sweet then that you have saved this name for so long!! And I love that the middle name is after Mae the band. Awesomeness.
So cute!! Your blog is adorable! Found your blog.. should follow me at cmkershaw.blogspot.com (:
Such a sweet name for a special little girl!! I am so glad that Clint agreed with the name! Haha!!
